SSL Certificate

In TLS (formerly known as SSL), a server is required to present a certificate as part of the initial connection setup. A potential site visitor connecting to that server (Web Property) will verify at least two things:

-The subject of the certificate matches the hostname to which the client is trying to connect.

-The certificate is signed by a trusted certificate authority.

What is a Web Property?

A Web Property is a point of presence on the web (e.g. a website, social media account, blog, etc.) that is an asset of an entity (an individual or corporation) used for the purpose of online branding, person, or other identity. Web property is considered intangible property and is analogous to real property in that it has ownership which can be recorded and transferred through ascertaining ownership.

What is a Web Property Owner?

An individual or company that has owners rights to online property such as a personal or business website developed by GriotSites Web Hosting & Designs which can be recorded and transferred though ascertaining ownership. The WPO is responsible for the upkeep of the Web Property as well as payments of any registrations, renewals, hosting, and maintenance fees.

What is a WIC?

WIC stands for “Web Insurance Claims”. A WIC is a formal request to our WIPS asking for modifications/postings/updates to be made to their registered Web Property. When a Web Property Owner (WPO) submits a WIC, a WIPS will review the request and issue a WWO if applicable. Learn more about WICs by clicking this link.

What is a WIP?

WIP stand for “Web Insurance Plan”. Web Insurance Plan is the sophisticated name we call our web maintenance department at GriotSites.com.

What is a WIPA?

WIPA stands for “Web Insurance Plan Account”. A WIPA is what we call the account associated with your registered Web Property. The WIPA houses a "help desk" type dashboard that acts as a miniature navigation center for each WIP Client. Click the link to learn more about WIPA and how to register for one.

WIPADD

Web Insurance Plan Addons or (WIPADD) are additional products and/or services that can be purchased as an addition to a Web Property.

What is a WIPP?

WIPP stands for “Web Insurance Plan Policy”. A WIPP is the actual month-to-month web maintenance agreement between you (Web Property Owner) and GriotSites. A WIPP can be canceled at anytime during the month, but the actual WIPA won't officially close until the end of the month. Closing your WIPA account will immediately cease any future web premium collections. Because of the cancellation schedule, it is best to use the remaining services before the end of the month when the account officially closes.

What is WIPS?

WIPS stands for “Web Insurance Plan Specialist”. A WIPS is responsible for all aspects of web insurance provided by GriotSites Web Hosting & Designs™. WIPS are also responsible for managing WIPA for all GriotSites Web Property Owners. Click the link to learn more about WIPS and their roles as well as knowing when to contact one.

What is a WWO?

WWO stands for “Web Work Order”. A WWO is an order created by a WIPS to initiate the task performance requested by a Web Property Owner. Once the WIPS has received and reviewed a web maintenance request or a WIC, a WWO is created to reflect the date and time the request was received and the estimate time of completion. More information regarding WWOs can be find in our “Web Work Order” section.

WPN - Web Policy Number

WPN is the number that appears on a WIPP. It is a unique identifier that attaches a policy to a specific individual, business, or entity. A WPN is assigned to a WIPP by a WIPS once you have purchased the web maintenance plan/insurance of your choice. This number is used as a reference point for GriotSites’ web insurance department.

Web Receipt

A Web Receipt or proof of purchase is an electronic response automatically issued when a WIC is submitted by a WPO.

A Web Receipt is provided to GriotSites Web Property Owners/Clients as record of their purchase of our goods or services. Copies of Web Receipts can be stored in an active WIPA.

Uninsured Web Property (UWP)

Uninsured Web Property or (UWP) is a GriotSites developed site property that is not currently active on a Web Insurance Plan. Web Properties that are not currently registered with a WIP can still obtain web maintenance through the use of our Griotcoins™ system.

Insured Web Property (IWP)

Insured Web Property or (IWP) is a GriotSites developed site property that is currently active on a Web Insurance Plan.

The purpose of Web Property insurance  is to provide critical and timely assistance in maintaining a site property, so that the company/business can continue to operate with as little disruption as possible.
