WIC stands for “Web Insurance Claims”. A WIC is a formal request to our WIPS asking for modifications/postings/updates to be made to your registered Web Property. When a Web Property Owner (WPO) submits a WIC, a WIPS will review the request and issue a WWO if applicable.

1. Prepare the content you are submitting for your Web Property. Follow the guidelines below for sending text content:

A. Check your text content for grammatical errors. You can use an online spell checker such as the one at grammercheck.me.

B. Specify the font name of the content you are submitting if it is different than the current font on your Web Property.

C. Text must be typed out in an email or word document file. Screenshots of text is not acceptable and will automatically be rejected.

D. If you are replacing text, specify the exact location of the unwanted text (ex. Home page, about me section). Copy and paste the old text into the email or word document that will contain the replacement text;

“.... Please replace the following text on my Web Property myownsiteexample.com”

Old text currently located on the “contact us” page
- “This is an example on how to submit text for posting on your Web Property. If I don't want this line of text, I would simply copy and paste the old text along with the new text like I did in this example along with my request (example text in green).”

New text to replace old text located on “contact us” page - “I would like to show you an example on how to submit text for posting on your Web Property. If I no longer need to keep this line of text, all I would have to do is submit the old text with the new text.”

E. There are thousands of cool fonts floating around the webiverse and you just so happened to run across one that is perfect for your Web Property. One thing you probably didn't think about was the possibility that the cool font you are dying to have is registered under a copyright.

You are welcomed to use a cool font, but don't be surprised if we contact you to request the copyright information for that font. The only reason we would question the copyright of a font is if we find a copyright attached to the font during our routine “ownership” search that you may not be aware of. If we do find a copyright on the font that you are wanting, we will send you the details of the font including the creator's information and how to obtain the font license.

If you insist on using a font style without obtaining permission, you will do so at your own risk. We may require a written statement from you stating that you are aware of possible copyrights to the font you want to use and that you are willing to use it at your own risk. Check out a list of web safe fonts that you can use freely.

In an effort to make submitting content for Web Property updating quick and convenient, we provide you with many ways to file a WIC:

The only other way to send your content to us is via your primary email account. Although this is an option, we do not recommend this method as your first option. Our new support ticket system is not only secure, it is much easier and faster to correspond with WIPS.

Filing a WIC over the phoneWICs are not acceptable over the phone EVER. We do this for several reasons:

Taking a WIC over the phone opens the risk of the information being received incorrectly. This can happen because either the WPO was not clear or the WIPS perceived the information incorrectly. In either case, updating a Web Property with incorrect information will result in site visitors seeing the errors as well as web spiders.

Information is communicated better when it is written down. Creating the information as a text file will give the WPO the opportunity to proofread and correct any errors before submitting a WIC.

When information is submitted in its original text format by the WPO, it is more convenient to return back to the original text should a question arise.

Knowing what to expect when you file a claim can help make the process easier to navigate. Though different types of claims are handled a little differently, most Allstate claims follow the same basic steps.
How To File A Web Insurance Claim (WIC)

A. Check your image size. Images should be no large than 1000 pixels.

B. Check the quality of your image. If it looks blurry or grainy to you then it will look horrible on your Web Property.

C. Screenshots of an image is not acceptable. This includes taking a picture of an image with your cell phone.  These types of images will stand out and give the impression that you don't care about your Web Property. Since we understand the negative impact such images can have on a Web Property, images submitted to us for posting will automatically be rejected.

D. Please do not (knowingly) submit copy written images for inclusion on your Web Property unless you have permission from the image creator or a paid license. If you insist on using an image without obtaining permission, you will do so at your own risk. We may require a written statement from you stating that you are aware of possible copyrights to the image you want to use and that you are willing to use them at your own risk. How to submit your image content for WIC
WIC is new but a breeze to learn. Don't worry, we are here to help.

Filing a WIC is similar to the previous method of sending your Web Property's content through email, but we are implementing a better way to send us your content, making your maintenance/updating experience as simple and convenient as possible.

If you get stuck or need clarity on how to use our new system, feel free to reach out to us. We are here to help you every step of the way to familiarize yourself with using WIC.
Knowing what to expect when you file a WIC can help make the process easier than before. If you need to file an emergency WIC, visit our "Emergency WIC Submission" webpage.

Step 1: File your WIC.

Sign into your WIPA to access the Support Ticket forum. You can also access your account by clicking this link.
If you do not have a WIPA, contact us at (888) 600-2011 for assistance.

Step 2: Your WIP Request is Validated.

Once a WIC is received by a WIPS, it is validated by verifying the terms of the active WIP associated with the WIC submission.

Step 3: Creating a WWO (Web Work Order).

Next, a WIC is converted to a WWO and placed in queue to be processed according to the request from the WPO.

Step 4: Review your WIC.

Once the work is completed per WWO, it (WWO) is placed in "holding" status to await approval. An email/support ticket is sent to the WPO containing the update/posting details and the link(s) to the webpage(s) where the changes were made to be reviewed by the WPO. All changes must be reviewed and either approved or rejected by the WPO within 72 hours.

If a WIC is not approved or rejected within the 72-hour review period, the WWO will be considered "complete" and the ticket will automatically move to the "closed" status.

Step 5: Wrapping up your WIC

Once the WWO is completed and moved to the "closed" status, it cannot be reopened, modified, or changed whatsoever. Any new changes that need to be made after a WWO is closed must start the process all over again.
What To Expect During The Claims Process.
1. Sign into your WIPA Forum and click on “Tickets”.

2. Click “New support ticket” in the right hand corner.
3. Fill out the “Submit a ticket” form and send it. The form must be filled out with the information shown in the samples below. Return back to this section to check on any open tickets that you may have in the queue.
