The following FAQs are frequently asked queries that we have accumulated over the years regarding Website maintenance.

What is a Web Insurance Plan?

Web Insurance Plan or "WIP" is the sophisticated name we call our web maintenance department at GriotSites.com. Our Web Insurance Plans offer more than just web maintenance to our Clients. Our plans offer a peace of mind to Web Property Owners who don't have the time or the knowledge it takes to maintain their website.

How does WIP work?

Web Insurance Plans work just like other insurance plans such as for a car or house insurance plan. Web Insurance Clients pay a monthly premium that protects the Web Property offering coverage for web maintenance, troubleshooting, technical support, and more.

Am I required to sign up for Web Insurance?

As a Web Property Owner, you are responsible for all updates and maintenance to your Web Property. You are not required to sign up for web insurance, but if you need for us to do them for you, it would benefit you to have web insurance.

Is there a contract?

Each plan is billed on a month by month basis so a contract is not needed. There are certain situations that require a contractual agreement such as to lock in special prices or offers.

All monthly plans are billed a month in advance through our Freshbooks™ billing software. Each WIP Client will have access to a personalized account created after the first web premium payment is received to activate the plan. We encourage that you set your account up on automatic credit card billing for the monthly renewals. If you do this, we will thank you by crediting your premium payment $5.00. Your credit card will be automatically billed each month on the day the account or service was activated until you cancel.

(Ex) If you activate your WIP on March 5th, your next payment will be due and/or withdrawn on April 5th and each month afterward until you cancel your plan.

WIP's may be canceled at any time with a 10-day minimum notice before the next renewal date.

How are WIP payments handled?

What is the turnaround time?

Our turnaround times vary depending on the nature of the WWO request. The maximum turnaround time for normal Web Work Orders is 7 business days. Emergency turnaround times are typically 3 days, and Urgent turnaround times are 24 hours.

How long does it take to process my WWO submission?

All WWO requests need to be submitted before 8 PM MST otherwise they will be processed the follow business day.

Which kind of Web Properties need a web-maintenance service?

Every Web Property that is visible online and wishes to have a healthy online presence should be maintained. Maintaining a Web Property is almost the equivalent to maintaining a house or vehicle. If you don't take care of it on a routine basis, your online health WILL suffer. 

How often can I communicate with VWB?

Depending on the WIP determines the method and how often you can communicate with us. View each WIP for service details.

Do I have to enter a contract in order to get Web Insurance?

No contract is required to enrolled in our WIP program. Certain situations will call for a contract to seal an agreement between GriotSites and the Web Property Owner to lock in special prices and offers.

Why do you only provide Web Property maintenance to sites developed by GriotSites?

GriotSites is an exclusive web hosting and designing firm that offers deep discounts to those who are current or past Clients. We only provide services for Web Properties developed by GriotSites Web Hosting & Designs. Doing so allows us to troubleshoot and/or maintain Web Properties quickly and efficiently as well as keeping the cost way below market value.

How do I sign up for a Web Insurance policy?

If you want to register a Web Property for WIP services, you can do so by submitting a Ticket to the WIP department. If the Web Property being registered was not developed by GriotSites Web Hosting & Designs, the application will automatically be rejected and you will receive information on how to obtain our web development services.

Why does my Web Property need regular site maintenance?

Web Property maintenance is important for too many reasons to list here so we will just list 2 major ones. One reason why your Web Property needs regular maintenance is to improve your rankings in major search engines such as Google and Bing. The second reason for Web Property maintenance is that it helps to keep your site visitors informed and engaged. It is crucial to keep your site content data, files, videos, and images fresh and up to date.

What types of web maintenance plans do you offer?

We offer 3 different plans: Basic WIP Coverage, Comprehensive WIP Coverage, and the Full WIP Coverage Web Insurance Plans. We also offer an à la carte of our products and services for those who are not WIP members or WIP members who need other services that are not offered in their current WIP.

What if the product or service that I need is not listed under your WIP list?

If you have a special request for a product or service that is not listed under our WIP products list, contact a VWB (Virtual Web Property Broker).

Are there Web Property maintenance tasks you cannot perform?

We do not maintain third-party addons such as Chat scripts or WordPress blog installations.

What all is covered with your website maintenance plans?

Our WIP cover areas such as updating of text and graphical content such as photos and images, adding and removing of pages, links verification and more. Each WIP covers certain products and services so it is best to view each WIP for detailed information.

Can I have multiple sites with the single WIP?

A WIP account can hold unlimited Web Property registrations.

Can I get a discount on Web Insurance Plans?

Yes. 4 or more registered Web Properties will receive a discount of 20% per additional registrations.
